The chalet enjoys an enviable position in perhaps the Porte du Soleil’s most coveted valley; the Vallee de la Manche. Down the mountain sits Morzine itself, either a short drive or a pleasant walk away. Towering down from the top of the valley are the Tete du Boston and the Col de Coux, gateways to Samoens or Chamonix and Switzerland respectively. Mountains that represent a veritable playground, whether on foot, skis or two wheels.

And in between? Well, here sits some of the most unspoilt Alpine environment there is. Dip your toes in the surging River Dranse or stand in awe under the 40ft Beau Morand waterfall that feeds it; both quite literally on your doorstep. Admire the Abondance cows grazing in your back garden during the summer, or take a stroll along the valley’s famous snow-shoe trail in the winter. Or perhaps make the most of the fact that some of the region’s best cross country ski trails run right beneath your window.

Few spots can boast such a feeling of utter escape whilst remains so close to the slopes thanks to the Nyon Téléphérique just down the road. The free ski bus gets you there in less than five minutes unless you choose to start the day by taking the Ski-du-Font trail.
